Robert V. Conti
Bob began his career as a legal secretary at the law
firm of Reed, Smith, Shaw & McClay. He also studied Court Reporting
(the stenograph machine), and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business and
Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
Bob has been Secretary/Treasurer and a Board Member of
SHOUT for the past ten years, helping to organize nine Pittsburgh Employment
Conferences for Augmented Communicators. He also compiles and edits the annual
Proceedings for PEC@.
Bob is an ESOP Trustee of the Prentke Romich Company in
Wooster, Ohio. Their international business is rehabilitation technology.
Bob has written articles for selected publications
dealing in rehabilitation technology, and he has received an award for his
Outstanding Contributions to People with Disabilities from Pennsylvania's
Initiative on Assistive Technology at Temple University.
Bob joined Semantic Compaction Systems (SCS) in 1984,
and his achievements include a number of patents and products. For the past 23
years, Bob has been responsible for the administration of SCS, and has helped
the company grow into a successful entity in the field of rehabilitation
technology. He has been involved in developing and licensing intellectual
properties and graphical user interface (GUI) technology.
